You may have noticed a lot more Halifax homes reducing their asking prices lately.
In fact, there were 189 price changes in just the past 7 days.
Here’s what these numbers can mean to you, especially if you’re buying or selling in this current market:
If you’re buying: you may have more time to compare homes and decide what feels like good value. A price reduction can be worth a second look, especially if you liked a home but thought it was priced too high.
If you’re selling: buyers are still out there, but an asking price that’s too high will likely mean fewer viewings and no offers at all. By the time you reduce the price, some of those buyers will have already moved on.
Price reductions on their own don’t mean the Halifax market is crashing but they do show why getting the price right when you first list matters so much.
As always reach out with any questions and I’d love to hear your thoughts on this…
